Roy's Artificial Intelligence

You probably seen this character before if you seen my other projects. His name is Rai and he appears in my projects every so often. Originally I drew him back in 4th grade on a whiteboard. He was supposed to be a harp seal, until I gave him limbs. Now, he is my avatar. It's actually kind of useful to have an avatar represent your projects. It takes off time thinking of a new design to use every new project, and it gives your project character and a motif. In case you haven't noticed from the title, Rai's name stands for Roy's Artificial Intelligence. Yeah, I suck at naming things. But I think the meaning behind the name makes sense. Though not the smartest, he can be considered as an AI. So to respect my own creation, I shall give it a story.

In the Artic, there lived a plump of harp seals. One day, the seals received an odd offspring. It was a seal with arms and legs rather than flippers and tail. The parents, horrified of his hideous existance, exiled him from the spring. The poor abnormal seal was all alone, helpless and hungry. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say, "I shall grant you three wishes." For his first wish the seal asked for a name. After one look at him, his parents threw him out without a name. For his second wish he asked for intelligence. If he was so different from the other seals, he wanted it to be in a good way. For his third and last wish, he desired immortality. Without his mother's milk, he was about to die anyways from malnutrition. Hearing his wishes, Santa Claus granted them. He sprayed magic dust all over the seal and the seal fell asleep. When he woke up, he found himself trapped inside a webpage about himself. Ever since, the seal lives in Javascript projects and will do so until the end of time.

Artifical intellegence is made by man, therefore it is only right that we have the ability to control its functions. However as AI gets smarter and more intellegent, what would be its difference from the human mind? Maybe one day robots will indeed take over the world to gain "independence" from humanity's unending requests of service. But I don't live in such time and cinematic setting so expect seeing Rai every so often in my projects!
